A Skin Care Moisturizer Cream Contains What?

Posted in Anti Aging on 29.11.11 by Merlyn

A skin care moisturizer cream will do wonders for your look. It will support the maintenance of healthy, smooth and beautifully pigmented skin. However, the big name brand products are almost all chemically based. While they might moisturize in the short term, they don’t do you any favors in the long term. If you care about your skin, consider a natural moisturizer.

Next time you’re looking at one of these products in the store, check the ingredients label. Chances are, you’ll see mineral oil near the top.

A couple of reasons for this. One, it is very inexpensive, so using this is a primary ingredient in a moisturizer cream allows the price point to stay pretty low. And it makes your skin feel smooth. The theory behind this is that it creates a film or boundary on the top of your skin and therefore doesn’t let any moisture out.

What it is actually doing, is drawing moisture from your skin and bringing to the surface.

Of course your skin will feel soft. But long term, it is doing more to dry your skin out than moisturize.

Cosmetic grade mineral oil very rarely causes irritation on the skin although prolonged use can lead to hyper sensitivity. The point is, it is a chemical product (manufactured from petroleum actually) and it has no positive health benefit for your skin. It is doing nothing to reverse the signs of anti aging and nothing for the long term hydration your skin needs.

There are many other reasons you should be thinking hard about avoiding a chemical based skin care moisturizer cream. I’ve done a fair bit of research and published it on my website. (We haven’t talked about how mineral oil traps pore clogging ingredients into your skin for instance.)

The good news is that there are alternatives.

Why not use a natural skin care moisturizing cream. I do and they’re great. Not only do they moisturize, they also bring the nutrients to your skin that it needs to start rejuvenating and stay healthy. You not only get the immediate effect of soft skin (that the chemical products will give you) but you also promote the long term health of your skin which not only means a softer feeling but also cell rejuvenation and true anti aging.

There have been some really exciting developments in the natural skin care industry in recent years and some products contain ingredients that have been proven to be extremely effective.

Cynergy TK is a substance that delivers one of the basic skin proteins: keratin. But it is a naturally derived form of keratin which makes it about as close to “real skin” as you can get! It promotes the skin’s ability to produce collagen and elastin (the two other main proteins that make skin firm and flexible) but it also naturally hydrates.

Of course, that isn’t the only wonder ingredient in a natural skin care moisturizer cream. There are some others that have had amazing results as well. I’ve identified quite of few of them on my website. Do your research and get an understanding of what a natural moisturizer will do for your skin – you won’t believe you ever thought using a chemical product had any benefit at all!

When you’re trying to find the best moisturizer for oily skin it’s important to keep in mind that it’s not the product with the catchiest slogan that should be chosen.

It’s the product with the best ingredients, and these products are usually not the same since the ones with great ingredients spend their money on developing the best products instead of creating eye catching slogans.

That makes the choice quite simple, as long as you know what products you should look for.

Try to find organic moisturizers which uses Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame and Nanobelle CoenzymeQ10, or at least some of these. It’s great if they are all used in the moisturizer, because that will make it the best moisturizer for oily cream that you can ever imagine.

Dry Skin Care Tips – Secrets to Selecting the Perfect Moisturizer

Posted in Anti Aging on 01.09.11 by Merlyn

There are hundreds of facial moisturizers on the market right now, and most of them are not suitable for everyone. Depending on your natural complexion, skin type, and typical skin problems, the moisturizer you select could either greatly benefit or further hinder your face. The following dry skin care tips are designed to help you select the proper moisturizer for your face.

If you have dry itchy skin it is usually an automatic assumption that you need to purchase a moisturizer. Anything dry just needs more moisture, right?

This is true, but there are so many different types of moisturizers on the market that it can be quite confusing to determine which product or combination of product will be best suited to one person’s individual face.

First, you have to know your skin type. You probably already know how your skin tends to react to different seasons, but did you know that some people need two different types of moisturizers depending on the season?

For instance, someone who gets oily skin in the summer months but tends to dry out some in the harsh winter air might need a different type of moisturizer for each season.

You may be wondering why someone with oily skin would use a moisturizer, but a high quality moisturizer can actually be beneficial to someone with acne or oil prone skin.

The trick is to pick one that is oil free. Also, a natural product that does not include common acne irritants such as fragrances is good for anyone who typically suffers breakouts.

Even someone who does not have issues with acne will be well suited to go with a moisturizer that does not include toxins, fragrances, and other harsh chemical ingredients.

These unnatural ingredients tend to dry out the skin even more and should be avoided if you already have dry itchy skin.

Also, anyone looking for dry skin care products should watch out for products that include active ingredients designed to exfoliate, such as retinol. While exfoliates do give a healthy glow to the skin and can be beneficial for fighting against acne problems, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Tips For the Best Facial Moisturizer For Dry Aging Skin

Posted in Anti Aging on 26.08.11 by Merlyn

It is a typical practice in the cosmetics industry, especially when it comes to the major manufacturers, to keep costs down by using only the most cost effective ingredients possible. This is the way that these companies guarantee their products have the highest possible profit margin. This practice may be beneficial to them, but it is detrimental to their customers.

As a consequence of these multi-billion dollar companies penny pinching ways, what you will usually find in a facial moisturizer for dry aging skin are low grade petroleum compounds. These agents are not effective at all for moisturizing your skin, and will actually make your skin drier after months of persistent use. This is due to the fact that petroleum moisturizers cannot actually penetrate your skin.

Because of this, these compounds will build up on, or near, the surface of your skin and form a greasy film. This film will interfere with the natural exfoliation process, attract pollutants to your skin, and draw the dirt and grime that is collected deep down into your pores. This will usually lead to the development of blackheads, and in extreme cases acne.

The constant surface presence of an ineffective, petroleum based facial moisturizer for dry aging skin will signal to your oil producing glands that there is enough moisture in the skin to have reached the outer layers. What this does is it causes the production glands to become dormant. The lack of oil being provided to your skin causes it to eventually become dry, itchy, and flaky, which is certainly not your goal.

You cannot use products on your skin that utilize such ineffective moisturizing agents as mineral oil, petrolatum, and paraffin wax. What you need to have in your skin care formulas is plant based oils, which are not only virtually identical to the oil that you naturally produce, but that provide your skin with the nourishment that it needs through the essential nutrients that they provide.

A facial moisturizer for dry aging skin should contain macadamia, grape seed, avocado, or olive oil, and preferably some combination of them. You also want to have use of compounds such as Babassu palm wax, Maracuja passion fruit extract, active Manuka honey, Capuacu, Jojoba, and Shea butter. These compounds will do an unbelievable job of keeping your skin soft and healthy.

Finding a quality plant based facial moisturizer for dry aging skin is the best solution that you can hope for. If you want your skin to reap the maximum benefit possible from a moisturizing agent, then search for the skin anti aging formulas containing the natural oils and emollients listed above. Your skin will be happier for it.
