P90X2 by Beachbody Isn’t for Beginners

Posted in Health on 02.02.12 by Merlyn

If you’ve never completed P90X, you might want to start with that one before trying p90x2 by Beachbody. It definitely isn’t a workout program for beginners. For example, if the thought of doing pull-ups and push-ups makes you cringe, this is not the program for you. You won’t get your money’s worth out of the program. There are plenty of exercises included in the p90x2 by Beachbody workout that even people in very good shape will not be able to pull off on the first try.

Early, but complete p90x2 reviews, say people are guaranteed to see results if they can complete the program. The workout program is ideal for in shape former athletes but it’s really popular with new moms as well. New mothers want to lose the baby fat, and if you’ve ever taken care of a baby and other young children, you know that it requires you to be in great shape.

The best advice I can give to people is to be realistic when assessing your fitness level before choosing this program. Read complete P90x2 reviews and look for people in a similar situation and fitness level  to yours to see how they fared. You’ll get the idea of what you’re in for so especially look for video clips to see exactly how hard the program really is.

Causes of Pediatric Aids

Posted in Health on 26.01.12 by Merlyn

Pediatric Aids is a serious issue, affecting many families all across the globe.  The majority of children who become infected with HIV are born with it.  It is estimated that 90% of children with this disease get it either before they are born, during or shortly after their birth.  The disease is typically transferred from their mothers, and the infection can occur during pregnancy or during labor.  Babies can also be infected if they are breastfed and their mothers are HIV positive.

While this has been a problem in every country all across the globe, it is especially prevalent in lower income and third world countries.  The reason for this is that most of the higher income countries offer comprehensive and accessible preventative medical care.  This health care ensures that infection from mother to child does not occur.   In those rare cases where infection does occur, higher income countries have more treatment options available.  These treatments help infected children live much longer lives than those children who reside in poverty stricken nations.  Since it is a fact that more children are infected with HIV, and more children die from AIDS in low income countries, many people are working to change this problem.  Many organizations and charities exist to raise money and get help for these countries.

HIV infection can also be caused in children if they are treated with unsterilized medical tools, or needles.  If they receive a blood transfusion and the blood is infected with HIV, this can also cause them to become infected.  There are still parts of the world where unsafe medical practices lead to children becoming infected with HIV.  It is a completely preventable problem, for which many are trying to raise awareness.

Thanks to medical advances that have been made within the last ten years, AIDS is not as deadly as it once was.  This is true for both adults and children.  There was a time when a child born with HIV would have almost no chance of making it to adulthood.  Now, with proper health care and medication, this disease can be managed.  Infected children now have the opportunity to live a full and somewhat happy life, even with AIDS.

How Much Does Storing Cord Blood Cost?

Posted in Health on 17.01.12 by Merlyn

Women who are pregnant may have heard about the importance of storing cord blood. This blood is rich in stem cells. Due to this, it has the potential to treat certain illnesses. People who are considering storing this substance will be asking themselves the question “how much does banking cord blood cost?”

When parents first get a quote for cord blood storage, they are likely to be taken aback by the high cost. People in this situation need to understand that the first year fees will be much more expensive than coming years. This is because it includes fees for collection, processing, testing and storage.  In the United States, parents can expect to pat between $1,700 to $2,300 for the first year of storage. The cost will then drop significantly in following years as parents will only have to pay for storage. Storage of cord blood typically costs $125 per year.

The fees discussed above are guideline amounts. Some banks will have higher fees while others will charge less than expected. This is due to a number of factors. For example some parents will choose to pay upfront for several years worth of services.  Other parents may be eligible for discounts.

There is no denying that cord blood storage is expensive. However it is well worth the cost. This blood contains stem cells which can treat some very serious illnesses. For example some doctors have had success treating Leukemia with cord blood. While it may not cure every disease out there, it can help with certain juvenile illnesses. At the end of the day, a few thousand dollars is a small price to pay to save the life of a child. People who are expecting a baby should learn about the benefits of this substance. Parents will need to decide whether or not they wish to store the blood fairly quickly as it can only be collected within a few days of birth.
